Letter from Michael Comins

To the DSO Board of Directors:

After failing to force a two-tiered system on the New York City Ballet Orchestra while causing a strike/lockout during the winter Nutcracker performances in 1999-2000 when she was president there, Anne Parsons brought these same anti-musician policies to the DSO. Also included in her NYCBO contract demands were tighter controls over the musicians’ workload. These demands were ultimately rejected as well.

I strongly suggest that the Board hire an Executive Officer more suited to the job.

Yup! Wouldn’t you think that would have been checked out by the interviewing committee? You know, call sources? Unless, of course, call this a wild guess…. she is exactly what the Board was looking for! Who on the board? All 90 of them? Or only a few with a mission to destroy the DSO. Too bad for them word got out or they might have won their power play. Stay tuned, Mike! And thank you for speaking up!
