Letter from Maureen Sheahan
Dear DSO Board Members,
I have just read that the DSO Director is suggesting canceling this entire season and delaying plans for the 2011-12 season. This isn’t the message of a leader who is striving to ensure the success of the Detroit Symphony. It’s frightening and suggests that new leadership is desperately needed.
I am writing to urge you to provide this leadership. The musicians have made honorable counter proposals and are willing to negotiate. Please do not allow the symphony to die because of pride, ego and lack of commitment to the city’s good. The people of SE Michigan will be behind you and appreciate your efforts.
Thanks and with hopes for a positive settlement,
Maureen Sheahan, Southfield, Michigan
