Letter from Deborah Choly
Dear DSO Board members:
As cutodians of the legacy of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, you must act to save the orchestra, and maintain its world-class status.
The quality and reputation of the orchestra really DOES matter – to the people of the region, to the hopes of the city, to the future.
It is very short sighted not to maintain the high standards of this orchestra. The musicians have been trying to compromise, knowing the economic reality of the times. Gov. Granholm and Sen Levin made a good proposal, which the musicians accepted. The Board seems to be bent on destroying this orchestra, and breeching its duty to safeguard the treasure that it is.
Act now to save the season, save the orchestra, and get back to the music!
